More than a pastry shop in central Bologna, a boutique of sweetness

It always begins the same way: a walk beneath the porticoes, a tempting desire, a quick stop. The door of Pasticceria Eden does not lead into a simple pastry shop in central Bologna, but into a true boutique of sweetness. Here, every creation is born to be chosen like a precious little object: for its flavor, certainly, but also for its shape, colors, and ability to move you. And because desire keeps no schedule, the sweet and savory offering accompanies the entire day, in continuity with the adjacent Caffè Eden. The signature is that of Pastry Chef Vincenzo Digifico, the mind behind the desserts of Ristorante I Portici, with his distinctive language of research, nonconformity, and refinement. A place where artisanal mastery meets contemporary design, to inspire you and offer a suspended moment of sweetness.

Pastry Shop in Bologna

Pasticceria Eden is located on the ground floor of Palazzo Maccaferri, home to I Portici Hotel, with direct frontage on Via Indipendenza. It is an elegant space open to everyone, where French refinement, Eastern essentiality, and Bolognese hospitality meet in a harmonious, contemporary balance.

From take-away to Caffè Eden

Pasticceria Eden is open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Here you may choose the creations and take them home with you; in the adjacent Caffè Eden, meanwhile, you may transform your stop into a true pause and take a comfortable seat while waiting for your pastry order to be served.

Our philosophy
Where fine dining meets everyday life

Ristorante I Portici, Cucina Portici, Pasticceria Eden, Caffè Eden: four expressions of one shared vision, that of Executive Chef Nicola Annunziata and Pastry Chef Vincenzo Digifico.

Within this common thread, Pasticceria Eden represents a central moment. On one side is Ristorante I Portici, where dessert is the final act of a technical, exclusive narrative. On the other is Caffè Eden, where the sweet and savory offering becomes part of everyday life and open to all. At the center, Pasticceria Eden gathers both souls and translates them into a balanced, contemporary patisserie: elevated in signature, accessible in enjoyment; complex in thought, essential in execution.

This is how fine dining enters the rhythm of the city and takes the shape of a gentle pleasure to be enjoyed every day.

Pastry Chef Vincenzo Digifico

Research means experimentation and discovery. Vincenzo Digifico’s journey began in Puglia and evolved through increasingly demanding kitchens and mentors: the Four Seasons in Milan and Florence, the Armani Hotel, Casa Vissani, then encounters with Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester in London and Paco Perez at Miramar in Girona. Step by step, an ever more personal, free, contemporary vision took shape.

Since 2004 he has been Pastry Chef of Ristorante I Portici, MICHELIN-starred since 2012, where he works in synergy with Executive Chef Nicola Annunziata. He also signs the sweet offerings of Cucina Portici, Pasticceria Eden, and Caffè Eden.

His pastry style is instinctive: low in sugar, rich in seasonal fruit, layered in texture, and balanced across sweet, bitter, savory, and acidic notes. The result is true edible artistry: desserts designed to surprise through unconventional pairings and an aesthetic of rigorous refinement.
